Ms. Pyle serves as Discovery and Data Privacy Counsel for the firm. She brings more than 25 years of experience as a litigator and legal consultant on issues involving enterprise risk management, data privacy and protection, and litigation preparedness. Ms. Pyle partners with in house legal, compliance and IT Teams, leveraging synergies to design practical, collaborative and cost-effective strategies for litigation preparation and enterprise risk management processes. .

Ms. Pyle has been recognized as a Fellow of Information Privacy by the International Association of Privacy Professionals for her knowledge of privacy laws, data protection and privacy program management best practices. She is a Certified Information Privacy Manager, Certified Information Privacy Technologist, and Certified Information Privacy Professional for both United States and European data privacy. Prior to joining RuyakCherian LLP, Ms. Pyle served as Discovery and Data Privacy Counsel for an Am Law 50 firm.

Representative Work Experience
• Development of litigation response plans for the preservation of data across corporations including data stored in emergent technologies such as mobile devices, smart technology and the Cloud

• Creative deployment of advanced technology and data analytics in information governance and litigation preparedness

• Development of electronic discovery and information governance protocol

• Counseling clients regarding the defensible disposition of legacy data

• Advising clients concerning cross-border transfers of data and data privacy protection

• Supervision of international and regional counsel in the management of complex discovery

• Meet-and-confer negotiations • Direction of international data collection and foreign language document reviews

Activities
Ms. Pyle is a member, and former Chair, of the DC Bar Litigation Section Committee on Information Governance and eDiscovery as well as a member of Women in e-Discovery (WiE), the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and the Sedona Conference (Working Groups on Electronic Document Retention and Production; International Electronic Information Management, Discovery and Disclosure; Data Security and Privacy Liability). Additionally, Ms. Pyle was appointed in 2014 to the American Bar Association’s Big Data and Information Security Task Force where she continues to serve. An extremely active pro bono participant, she has been named to the Capital Pro Bono High Honor Roll for six consecutive years.
